Project Vision |
Challenges |
A local arcade is trying to connect with more of it's player base as well as reach out to new patrons. For this project, we interviewed and conducted research at the arcade, talking with patrons about what kind of app could fill in any gaps in their experience at the arcade. We identified three major goals for the app that built upon each other and would help to improve the experience for all players.
|
1.) Build a minimalistic UI that is intuitive for users with a wide range of accessibility
2.) Provide multiple methods of participation for players with different goals, be they purely competitive or social 3.) Offer ways to track scores that don't break into the top 10 for stat keeping or other in-app use |
Research
Through my research, I identified the core audience to be current patrons of the arcade ranging in ages between 13-45. Of the individuals spoken to the three main focuses were: seeing top ranking scores, tracking their non-ranking scores, and creating challenges between friends.
With this in mind, I conducted a competitive audit, looking at apps and websites that sought to fill similar niches.
